A majestic raptor, the REDTAIL HAWK is depicted,  life size, landing on a weather worn pine scrub. A very adaptable bird, the Red-tailed Hawk is usually found in grasslands or marsh- shrub habitats and ranges throughout North America to central Alaska and northern Canada, and as far southvas the mountains of Panama. The sport of falconry has been practiced in Asia and Egypt since 3000 BC.  This bird's extremely acute eye sight, 8 times more powerful than a human's, makes it a superb hunter.
